About Our Work

The Cortland EEG and Psychophysiology Laboratory (CPL) is a research facility at SUNY Cortland. We conduct research that focuses on emotional, social, and personality processes. We study issues pertaining to life events, mental health, emotional well-being, psychometrics and biostatistics. The laboratory is housed in and maintained by the Department of Psychology. This is our blog. Here we post information about our projects, student advisement, and other items of interest to us.

Dr. Eaton also works on the Curatious project, and we hope you will visit the Curatious website. You can watch the video on the Curatious home page to learn how to use the site. Sign-up if you would like. Give the site a try and have fun rating the art listed. Complete your Curatious profile (it can be public or private) so that the Curatious staff knows about you (especially if you are an artist, student, or educator). You do not need to be educated in art or art history to join Curatious and rate the art you see on the website. After using the site for a while you will find you have learned more about evaluating art. The immediate feedback you receive about your ratings compared to the critics (expert ratings) and the cost to purchase the piece you rated serves to speed-up the learning curve. Who knows–maybe you will find you have a hidden talent for evaluating art. You can lean about each of the Curatious Founders and Advisors by clicking here. We will be telling you more about this project soon!
